Real ROI using Splunk–from the Great White North to the Deep South
We wrapped up our SplunkLive events for 2011 by migrating to warmer climates–namely, deep in the heart of Texas.
We even had a few customers from the Great White North join us on our migration path. Josh Diakun from Interac/ Acxsys and Derek Mock of Ceryx flew from Toronto to wow the Texans with all the different ways they’re using Splunk. And for some local flavor, Bob Jones from the City of Corpus Christi rounded out the agenda with tips and tricks to help fledgling Splunkers get started.

Splunk User Group in Sydney – Announcement for new apps built by Corporate Express duo, Shaun Butler and Luke Harris
About 6 weeks ago I held my first user group in Sydney. It was a great turn out and a fun night seeing other Splunk Ninjas bring along their colleagues and to witness the camaraderie that happens at almost every Splunk customer event.
And thanks to Luke Harris and Shaun Butler from Corporate Express, it was almost like a big event where new products were being launched! They shared how they are currently using Splunk in their organization, and made announcements of the following new Splunk Apps they developed and published to Splunk Base:

- Splunk App for Nagios (New Version)
- Splunk App for EMC Symmetrix
- Splunk App for EMC ISILON

Last month I attended the very first Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area Splunk users group and it was a great experience.
